The TSUNEISHI GROUP Obtained third-party verification in accordance with ISO 14064
TSUNEISHI HOLDINGS CORPORATION (HQ: 1083 Tsuneishi, Numakuma-cho, Fukuyama, Hiroshima, Japan; President: Hirotatsu Kambara) and 28 TSUNEISHI Group companies have acquired third-party verification from Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (4-7, Kioi-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO Hiroaki Sakashita; hereafter “ClassNK”) for our calculated emissions toward GHG (*1) emission reduction targets.
The TSUNEISHI Group has been driving organizational sustainability management since 2022 to address environmental and social issues and has declared a group-wide commitment to reducing GHG emissions to counter climate change and realize a sustainable society. Since 2019, which is the Group’s base year for reduction targets, we have monitored scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions through our supply chain. TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd., which our Group’s key company, have got the first Japanese specialized shipyard which obtained ISO14064 certification.
The TSUNEISHI Group will next aim for carbon neutrality in logistics by building a management structure that can supply products and services with high added-value while reducing the environmental burden. *1 GHG (Greenhouse Gas)
This refers to gas such as carbon dioxide and methane that is disposed to trapping heat in the atmosphere, and to absorbing and releasing infrared radiation. Examples of greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide (CO₂), methane (CH₄), nitrous oxide (N₂O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), sulfur hexafluoride (SF₆). From the Kyoto 2nd commitment period in 2013, nitrogen trifluoride (NF₃) is also included.

1)ISO14064-1: Specification with guidance at the organization level for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals
2)ISO14064-3: Specification with guidance for the verification and validation of greenhouse gas statements
3)GHG protocol: International GHG accounting standards designed to provide a framework for measuring and reporting GHG emissions, developed through collaboration among multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, entities, NGOs.
