Combining the strengths of
companies to build a stronger group
Creating the future, today.
KONO Hitoshi, Group CEO
Since our founding in 1903 in Numakuma-cho, a town situated in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, we have built a history spanning over 120 years.
This is due entirely to the support of our customers, business partners, partner companies, and the local community, all of whom we got to know through our business. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone.
I would also like to extend my deepest appreciation to all our employees for their efforts and contributions to date.
Throughout its 120-year history, the TSUNEISHI Group has expanded its activities across five business segments: Shipping, Shipbuilding, Trading & Energy, Environment, and Life & Resorts. We have continued to build bonds and move forward together with people from various communities in Japan and abroad.
While we have consistently engaged in social contribution activities to date, in 2025, we established a system to promote social contribution more actively as our sixth business segment.
In May, we set out a new corporate identity (CI) that is unified across the Group. Adopting the kanji character “ten” (天) taken from “Tensha Maru” (天社丸), an important ship in the founding of the TSUNEISHI Group, we have updated our logo to incorporate the letter “T,” evoking the image of “Tsuneishi.” Fashion designer, Mr. Hiromichi Ochiai, has been appointed as the Group’s Chief Design Officer and is advancing the “Tsuneishi Design Project” to promote our branding.
In addition. our company name, TSUNEISHI HOLDINGS CORPORATION, has been changed to TSUNEISHI GROUP CORPORATION effective January 1, 2026.
The use of the word “Group” reflects our ambition to more clearly communicate our identity as a diversified business organization with substantive presence.
Furthermore, the new name serves as a declaration, to all stakeholders, of our resolve to transcend company and segment boundaries by sharing our Group identity, culture, and values among all employees and further enhancing the sense of unity across the entire Group. It also speaks of our commitment to support one another, maximize our respective resources, and work as one to address challenges in the community and society.
The future of the TSUNEISHI Group will be forged by people.
Employees will be driven by ideas, intentions, and curiosity to refine their talents, wisdom, and qualities as they pursue discovery with their colleagues and learn from setbacks to create new value.
To ensure that “everyone plays a leading role” in the TSUNEISHI Group, we will engage in initiatives, including creating an environment where people can thrive, in order to become a group company that is “driven by people, committed to people .”
Looking ahead to the next 100 years and the future to come, we will continue to cherish the unique character of the TSUNEISHI Group in line with our corporate mission of “Developing stable businesses to ensure the happiness of employees .” At the same time, we will leverage our collective strength, continue to tackle the challenges of creating new businesses and value for the future, and strive to contribute further to the local communities and society.
