TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Delivers 115,000 DWT Aframax Tanker
10 June 2026 – TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd. delivered the 115,000 DWT-class Aframax tanker PUSAKA JAYA at its Tsuneishi Factory.
This vessel is an Aframax tanker primarily used for the transport of crude oil, with a deadweight tonnage of approximately 115,000 MT, a length overall of approximately 250 metres and a breadth of 44.0 metres. Aframax tankers, generally categorised as medium-sized crude oil tankers in the deadweight of 80,000 to 120,000 MT class, are widely recognised for their versatility, balancing transportation efficiency with compatibility for ports with draft and size restrictions. They continue to play a vital role in supporting the medium-haul crude oil transportation market.
In developing this vessel, TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING pursued enhanced operational efficiency on major trading routes through hull-form optimisation utilising advanced fluid analysis technologies. In addition, the vessel incorporates the proprietary energy-saving technology “MT-FAST”, and advanced hull design concepts to maximise cargo carrying performance while achieving superior fuel efficiency. Furthermore, consideration has also been given to cargo handling efficiency and maintainability, contributing to safe and stable vessel operations.
Aframax tankers are capable of calling at ports where Very Large Crude Carriers may face operational restrictions, and therefore play an important role in supporting global crude oil transportation infrastructure. By combining high transport efficiency with improved environmental performance, the vessel is designed to respond flexibly to increasingly diverse maritime transportation needs.
Through the construction of vessels that achieve both reduced environmental impact and enhanced transportation efficiency in the field of maritime energy transportation, TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING remains committed to contributing to the realisation of a sustainable society.
