TSUNEISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES (CEBU) Holds Its 15th Tree-Planting Activity
— Nurturing the Forests of the Future Together with the Local Community —
18 October 2025 – TSUNEISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES (CEBU), Inc. (hereinafter “THI”), the Philippine manufacturing base of TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd., has conducted its 15th tree-planting activity in the local forest of Vito, Balamban town.
Since 2012, THI has been implementing tree-planting and other environmental protection initiatives as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, promoting harmony between industry and nature.
Joining Hands for a Greener Tomorrow
On the day, 155 volunteers from THI and other TSUNEISHI Group companies based in the Philippines took part in the event. Together, they planted 2,000 seedlings of the “Tugas” tree (known in English as Molave), a native species valued for its strength and resilience.
Despite heavy rainfall the previous day, which left the ground muddy and slippery, participants patiently and carefully planted each seedling one by one. These young trees, though still small, are expected to grow into a thriving forest over the next 50 to 100 years, contributing to the preservation of the local ecosystem.
