TSUNEISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES (Cebu), Inc. (Abbr.: THI; Location: Balamban, Cebu, Philippines; President: Akihiko Mishima), an overseas group company of TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING (HQ: 1083 Tsuneishi, Numakuma-cho, Fukuyama, Hiroshima, Japan; President: Sachio Okumura), was hit by Typhoon Rai (No. 22), which passed through the central part of the Philippines from December 16th (Thursday) to 17th (Friday), 2021.
As an initial report, we have confirmed that none of customer representatives, suppliers, and our employees were harmed.
For the status of our facilities, due to the damage to the local infrastructure and the instability of power supply and the means of communication, we are still uncertain about the whole extent of the damage. We prioritize the safety of our employees and will report as soon as possible.
We express our heartfelt sympathy to all persons affected by Typhoon Rai. We pray for the earliest possible recovery of the devastated area.
