Tsuneishi Foundation repairs six classrooms through brigade eskwela
CEBU, Philippines, 20 June, 2014 - Tsuneishi Foundation (Cebu), Inc. (TFCI), the philanthropic arm of the Tsuneishi Group of companies, gathered around 300 employee-volunteers on May 31, 2014 for the group’s annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity, the Brigada Eskwela 2014 in preparation for the start of school year 2014-2015.
This yearly school repair and clean-up activity benefitted the LAMESA elementary school located in the mountain side of Balamban municipality. TFCI repaired and repainted six classrooms, one of which was rehabilitated. The classrooms were all repainted in yellow, the official color of the foundation, symbolizes happiness and optimism, and implying that the future is bright for our school children.
This year’s brigada eskwela has generated more volunteers than last year where parents and school officials took part in the activity.
TFCI President Mr. Hitoshi Kono thanked all employee-volunteers for the great number of participants who took their time to reach out to the school community. “The foundation exhausts all means to enrich people’s lives by supporting the communities where we operate. We contribute in providing quality education to students through better facilities and other forms of assistance,” said Mr. Kono.
