TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd. (Fukuyama, Hiroshima, Japan; Representative Director: OKUMURA Sachio) announces that MITSUI E&S SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan; Representative Director: KOHATAKE Yasunori) as a member of TSUNEISHI GROUP has acquired all shares of Akishima Laboratories (Mitsui Zosen) Inc. (Akishima, Tokyo, Japan; Representative Director: IGARASHI Kazuyuki).
TSUNEISHI GROUP will improve our product development and competitiveness through activation of research into automatic and autonomous navigation technology, which has been carried out in Akishima Lab and realization of an increase in the field of hydrodynamic design by being able to carry out a wide range of ship model basins and wind tunnels. Furthermore, by using the Current Water Tank which is one of the features of Akishima Lab, we expect increased opportunities for launching a business in a new field external shipbuilding field such as developed of offshore wind and wave power generation and mooring analysis technology for ships and offshore structures.
